| Jehst
- Falling Down - 2LP - $24.99 Low Life -- 2003 -- Condition: New Easliy one of the best albums of the last year. If you haven't heard him, Jehst is an outstanding lyricist. On his debut LP, he laces track after track with thick metaphors and narrative and produced most of the music himself. Includes the two singles: the Run-DMC sampled "Run Hard" and the prosaic (in a good way) "Monotony" featuring Asaviour and Diablo. No filler, every track a standout. How much effort he must have put just into "Intro (Liquor Soaked Sentiments)". Lewis Parker produces "Brimstone Rock" and "Give it Here", lending vocal support to the second cut as well. "Falling Down" and "ESP (Extra Sensory Perfection)" are aural dreamscapes covered by uncompromising lyrics. A true masterpiece. |
