About
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you learn something or find some dope new music through my site.
I stumbled into international hip hop in 2003 when I was selling old school hip hop records on eBay. The large quantities of customers from outside the USA were all too happy to tell me about their own country’s hip hop scene and I started trading and buying a few records from them.
I found some international hip hop distributors and launched World Hip Hop Market in 2004 from my Chicago apartment. I slowly built up my site over the next two years, finding access to a lot of great international hip hop on eMusic.com in 2005, and also moving to Atlanta. In 2006, I finally had a breakthrough. I joined MySpace and had access to thousands of international hip hop artists. This unfettered access led me to launch an online radio station dedicated to international hip hop (World Hop Hop Radio) and a MySpace blog (76 posts in the first year). I decided as part of my site redesign in 2007, I would make a more fully functional blog, so moved over to WordPress.
In 2008, I have started doing PR and sponsoring events like the Trinity International Hip Hop Festival, the Global Underground Film & Hip Hop Mini-Fest and CMJ’s Global Hip Hop Throwdown. The online record store portion of my site was also destroyed by hackers, so by year end, I had fully moved to a news/blog based web site.

This Las Vegas based, nineteen-year-old Pop/R&B artist has taken on countless challenges in her young life and career, and has successfully met every single one. Her hot new songs herald the arrival of this very special young artist. Her music will “move your body and put a smile on your face”.
Born in Gabon, West Africa, Christelle grew up listening to French, African and American music, but the music that struck a chord in her was the American R&B and Hip-Hop of artists like Beyonce, Ashanti, Brandy, Jay-Z, 50 Cent and Mariah Carey. As Christelle recalls, “Even though I couldn’t understand the lyrics back then, no other music made me feel as good.”
Arriving in Las Vegas in 2006, she immediately faced an enormous challenge – the language barrier. She explains, “It was a very difficult transition. It was horrible to not be able to communicate with people. I gained a tremendous amount of respect for the millions of immigrants that make up so much of America.”
Determined to learn English as soon as possible, Christelle enrolled in an intensive English school, graduating in December of 2007, qualifying her for the university system. Finding herself even more inspired by the entrepreneurial spirit of some of her favorite R&B and Rap stars, she enrolled into the International Academy of Design and Technology, where she is currently a second year student looking to create her own clothing line, in conjunction with her music.
Christelle adding a more urban pop and R&B flavor to her music, as she plans for her breakout year of 2009. “I loved recording the songs I did this year and seeing them grow,” she says with a smile. “I know I’ve come a long way, but I’ve going to go much further this year.” She’s excited to hear her music on the radio and is looking forward to touring, and as she says, “I just hope to give back the good feelings I felt when I was in Africa, listening to American music.”
Special note: Christelle’s Debut EP album broke the top 40 Top R&B/hip hop albums on billboard on May 9, 2009. Her single with Dizzy D, “What you gon’ do wit it” broke the top 10 Hot R&B/hip hop singles sales on the same date.

Hello my name is Katherine. I’m a representative for an American Hip Hop group called U-N-I. They are currently documenting their tour for MTV from around the world. They just got back from the Czech Republic and i’m trying to get them on a plane to another country soon. Visit their website at http://www.YoThurz.com to hear their music and see their bio. I think they would be a great addition to the next hip hop festival or guest at a club that wants MTV Exposure. Let me know what you think or feel free to pass on the information. Thank you for your time and sharing the love of international hip hop!
