K’naan launched his new web site last week: www.knaanmusic.ning.com

Many of our reader know K’naan - the Somalian born emcee living in Canada. K’naan is known for painting a vivid picture of life in his native Somalia and has won respect and renown for his lyrical social commentaries.

After his 2006 Canadian release, “The Dusty Foot Philosopher”, he toured the world twice opening for Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley. In 2007, he released a live album, “The Dusty Foot on the Road”, with guest appearances by Mos Def as well as doing his own guest verse on “‘Til We Get There” by M-1 (of dead prez).

In mid-2008, he was signed by A&M/Octone and his “Dusty Foot Philosopher” album was finally released in the United States.

His first single, “ABCs”, can be heard on his web site now. The song will be made available for purchase next week as a pre-release on iTunes. The new album, “Troubadour”, will be available in January 2009.
